Throughout November, the White Ribbon Association supports two very important national campaigns; Road Safety Week (co-ordinated by Brake) and Alcohol Awareness Week (co-ordinated by Alcohol Concern).
This year, we have combined the campaigns to create awareness of the impact alcohol has on road safety in the community with the message: ‘Drive Less, live more: the impact of alcohol on our society’. Our Community Health Information displays provide information on the legal drink drive limit, the ways alcohol can affect driving skills, and reminds people to consider whether they would be sober enough to drive the morning after a night out.
As we head into the Christmas period, the displays provide ‘food for thought’. We want everyone to have safe and enjoyable nights out, whilst remembering the consequences of their actions can affect society as a whole, not just themselves!
Our Community Health Information displays have already been booked by a number of community venues, colleges and libraries. If you would like to loan one of our free display boards, please get in touch today!
Alcohol Awareness Week will run from 16th to 22nd November, and Road Safety Week will run from 23rd to 29th November. For more information on how you can get involved with each event, please visit the Alcohol Concern and Brake websites.
