Our awareness assemblies are ideal for raising awareness of the impact of drugs, alcohol, tobacco or gambling to a large audience when time is limited. Our Development Officer Vickki was invited to Cockshut Hill College to deliver a 15-minute assembly on alcohol awareness to Year 10 students.
Being so close to Christmas and many students attending Christmas and New Year parties, the assembly focussed on ways to stay safe during a night out. This highlighted some of the vulnerabilities a person exposes themselves to if they have drunk an excessive amount of alcohol, such as alcohol poisoning, assault, violence or drink spiking. To reinforce these points, the students watched part of the ‘Best Mates Night Out’ video, which demonstrates how easily these issues can occur.
To conclude the assembly, Vickki explained some of the ways they can protect themselves from vulnerabilities and encouraged them to be aware of the various dangers around them during the festive time.
This assembly is part of an hour-long educational session, which can be booked for just £40! Perfect for PSHE or enrichment classes, our educational workshops provide an interactive experience for students to learn about the risks of alcohol, drugs, tobacco and gambling and how they can keep themselves safe.
