Our Key Stage 3-4 Drug Awareness Work Pack includes everything you need to help your students make healthy decisions concerning drugs.
Your work pack is delivered in a convenient folder and includes:
Facilitator booklet (containing four awareness sessions)
Activities booklet (sheets which can be photocopied for your sessions)
Overview sheet (a summary of all the sessions which can be photocopied and distributed to your students)
Memory stick (containing accompanying PowerPoint presentation)
Session One: Understanding drugs
Focussing on: how do drugs work; categories of drugs; what are the risks; what to do in an emergency
Session Two: The impact of drugs
Focussing on: the impact drugs have on: mental health, physical health, relationships, community, wider society, and school/work; what are drug classifications; being pressured to try drugs; drug driving
Session Three: What are new psychoactive substances?
Focussing on: what are new psychoactive substances; what are the effects; the law; what is solvent abuse
Session Four: Understanding cannabis
Focussing on: what is cannabis; what are the effects; what are the risks; the law on cannabis
The four sessions within this work pack are designed to last approximately 50 minutes. This is a guideline only, and can be adjusted during discussion/activity time. The sessions can be delivered standalone, but students will benefit from the experience of partaking in each session.
