Our Key Stage 3-4 Alcohol Awareness Work Pack includes everything you need to help your students make healthy decisions about alcohol.
Your work pack is delivered in a convenient folder and includes:
Facilitator booklet (containing four awareness sessions)
Activities booklet (sheets which can be photocopied for your sessions)
Overview sheet (a summary of all the sessions which can be photocopied and distributed to your students)
Memory stick (containing accompanying PowerPoint presentation)
Session One: Understanding alcohol
Focussing on: what is alcohol; what does alcohol do; alcohol and the law; being pressured to drink
Session Two: The impact of alcohol
Focussing on: the impact alcohol has on: the body and appearance; physical health; mental health; relationships; sleep; unborn babies
Session Three: How much is too much alcohol?
Focussing on: what is a unit; working out units; what is binge drinking; the risks of alcohol poisoning; what to do in an emergency; what are hangovers
Session Four: Drink driving
Focussing on: how does alcohol affect driving; what is the legal amount; what’s the ‘safe’ amount; drunk passengers; the morning after
The four sessions within this work pack are designed to last approximately 50 minutes. This is a guideline only, and can be adjusted during discussion/activity time. The sessions can be delivered standalone, but students will benefit from the experience of partaking in each session.
